Dog Health Problems: What is Causing Blocked Noses

IdeaMan21 | April 13th, 2009

Posting for a friend who has two Westies (West Highland White Terriers). In the last few days, first one dog and then the other has shown symptoms of having a blocked nose, no associated cough. Eating or overall energy has not been affected. However they are now making this grunting noise as they breathe. No mucus but they sound congested. Hasn’t taken the dogs to the vet yet, thought would if needed. Appreciate any suggestions.westies_top_right

Just a note that my Golden, Rosie, and numerous other dogs we know are been experiencing spring pollen/allergy effects. I’m currently pet sitting for 2 other households and 3 of those dogs are doing the same each time they got outside. Of my 2 cats that have outdoor time, one is experiencing nasal drip after exploring my flowers and laying among the maple tree mess.

Also, ask your friend if any new household cleaners or aromatics have recently been used. Natural or created changes may be effecting their noses/sinuses.
